This is a bit more complicated than you might like, I'm afraid - it's the price we (don't) pay for using Yahoo. But bear with it, because once you're signed up, you can get on with the fun stuff of giving and getting things for free.

How do I find my local group?

There are two ways to find your local group.

  1. You can browse UK groups here.
  2. You can search search for your nearest Freecycle (or other recycling group) here.

So first, find which group is local to you.

How do I join my local group?

Ok, now you know which group you want to join. How do you do it?

There are three different ways of joining groups, so first of all you need to decide which is suitable for you.

  1. You can join groups by email. This is easy to do, but you get fewer features and less control over your membership.
  2. Or you can join groups via Yahoo. This requires a Yahoo ID, so you'll need to create one if you don't have one. Then you can sign up and look at posts on the web.
  3. If your group uses the new website, you can join via My Freecycle.

Decide which of these you want to do, and then click here to join by email, here to join via Yahoo or here to join via My Freecycle.
